Position Summary

As a Visual Designer, you will be a steward of our company brand while delivering exceptional design for teams across the business. Brand expression, fine-tuning, campaign exploration, and UI design are all key aspects of success. 


Must Haves:

  • Strong ability to communicate in English (Professional English proficiency).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, related degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years experience as a visual designer or in a similar capacity designing visuals for a corporate environment.
  • Working proficiency in tools common to visual design (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite’s InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of modern design principles and tools, marketing strategies, and visual design software packages.
  • Deep knowledge of:
  • contemporary design, technology trends, and brand expression techniques.
  • design research, user experience design processes, principles, and methodologies.
  • SDLC processes and at least one agile SDLC tool to manage work (e.g., JIRA).
  • Proven ability to:
  • Approach design projects innovatively and to collaborate and create with other designers and project managers to bring innovation and experience to life for audiences of all types.
  • Actively seek out and apply feedback to work in the spirit of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Effectively communicate, build relationships, and leverage influential skills to gather information in a busy environment.
  • Confidently present designs in an inspiring and compelling way.
  • Energize teams and advocate for your ideas.
  • Adapt quickly to short timelines, changes in prioritization, and ambiguity in an agile work environment.
  • Strong experience leading and communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale, all within a user-centered design process.
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize and manage workload, and meet critical project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in keeping up to date on visual design technologies, techniques, and industry trends.
  • Understand and be able to quickly adapt to the challenges and opportunities of designing for a marketplace business that has multiple sets of unique customers.
  • Commitment to quality and attention to detail in all aspects of data integration and pipeline development.
  • Demonstrated design research, visual and interaction design, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert collaboration, communication (both written and verbal), presentation, creativity, conflict resolution, ideation, and project management skills.

You will:

  • Design materials supporting the Design and Marketing teams.
  • Be responsible for building campaigns and initiatives, contributing to conversion, and ensuring designs move the needle and impact experiences positively. 
  • Focus on creating and expanding design assets for marketing, and UI experiences while maintaining a strong design foundation, and collaborating with the larger Design and UX teams. 
  • Lead strategic and design brainstorming sessions and provide recommendations regarding visual strategies and content.
  • Ensure visual strategies and content align with company and customer/client desired outcomes.
  • Translate business requirements and engineering specifications into effective user interfaces.
  • Assist in the design and development of style sheets and corporate style guides to maintain product design and UI standards.
  • Consult with end-users and stakeholders on approaches to content based on goals for usage.
  • Remain up to date on the latest design trends and work quickly and effectively to build and iterate on new designs.
  • Create visual designs using a variety of tools that balance aesthetics with functionality.
  • Develop or may lead the development of UI sketches, wireframes, and prototypes for desktop, tablet, and mobile phone sizes to show user and screen flow, navigation, and interaction detail.
  • Create graphical assets and icons for use in user interface products and model graphic designs based on standards and branding.
  • Create motion ideation around content creation tools in 2D and 3D.
  • Perform 3D modeling and animation to evolve the audience experience given the immediate and long-term goals of the company.
  • Define appropriate metrics including engagement, usability, conversion, and other analytics.
  • Propose and influence others to experiment with new approaches to design and promote a test-and-learn environment.
  • Determine changes required to improve the audience experience.
  • Partner with teams across the company to generate, create, and present on-brand UI that drives measurable results.
  • Create Trade Show, advertising design assets, PowerPoint Templates, and marketing assets.
  • Work closely with teams, and stakeholders to provide design solutions that stay true to the goals of their brief and align with the company brand.

Compensation, Contract, Terms

  • USD 26 per hour, paid monthly.
  • Contract: Freelance (prestación de servicios) with our company in the US.
  • Part time. 22 hours per week, in 9-5 East Coast hours, no overtime
  • Start date: Jan 2024
